Welcome to the website of the
Manchester National Trust Volunteers

MNTV Welcomes you

Welcome to the Manchester National Trust Volunteers website.  We are an outdoor conservation group affiliated to the National Trust (NT) and help with practical conservation work on NT properties mainly in the North West.

The local properties we work at are the Styal Estate, Hare Hill Gardens, Lyme Park and the areas of Alderley Edge and High Peak.  We also work at properties further afield such as Biddulph Grange Garden, Speke Hall, Hardcastle Crags, Formby, Erddig,Thurstaston and Helsby Hill.

In 2016 MNTV celebrated it's 30th birthday with a party on the Styal Estate, as part of the celebrations a video was put together giving an insight into what we have been upto for the last 30 years. This video can be found here

Come and join us for a great day of fresh air, excercise, meet new friends, learn new skills and a real sense of having done something important to help a special place.

New members are always welcome, age is no obstacle although a reasonable amount of fitness is necessary (unfortunately we are unable to work with those under 18 unless accompanied by an adult).

If you haven't got your own transport, many of the properties we work at have public transport links nearby and lifts can be arranged for the remainder of the journey.

After giving us a go and finding you like us, we ask that you pay an annual subscription of £7 which will help to pay for essential items such as tools, protective clothing and web domain that enable the group to carry out its work in support of the National Trust. If you volunteer for at least 50 hours by next March you will receive a 12-month NT Volunteer card which gets you free entry to NT properties for a year plus 20% discount in NT shops and cafes, and a NT car parking sticker.  This is a big 'thank-you' for volunteering to help the National Trust.

Why not come along and give us a try?

We can also be found on Twitter Page and on  Facebook Page.
