Dunham Massey

Type of work:

We have done all sorts of work here, Vegetation clearing, Balsam bashing in the summer, Pond drainage.

The area is fairly flat.  If working in the Dear Park we recommend measures to reduce the chance of getting ticks. Wear long trousers tucked into socks, and long sleeves.  Please check for ticks when you get home and remove with a tick remover.

Location:

On arrival tell the people in the ticket booth you are volunteering, turn right after the booth to park.

Public Transport:

There is a train that arrives at Altrincham Station almost in time for a 10am start at Dunham. Please contact the leader in advance, to see if pickup is possible.

Facilities:

There is a café and toilets in the Visitors centre near the carpark.

As with most sites you may be working several minutes’ walk from the carpark.

Usual meeting Time:

10:00 – so the Rangers can do their daily checks before we arrive. please check email for confirmation of the time.
